2001 A Space Odyssey. Fixing the Hal 9000.
UPDATE. #OnThisDay March 6, 1997, I had GTE (General Telephone, now Verizon) install my 2nd phone line for Internet Access.
As you will read below - for the umpteenth time, as I have posted this & posted this & posted this for YEARS - I did NOT HAVE INTERNET WHEN YOUR REPEAT HAPPENED.
To this day, I am still scapegoated & blamed for OTHER PEOPLE'S ACTIONS. It is not only a RECKLESS DISREGARD FOR THE TRUTH, this is the DEFINITION OF SLANDER WITH ACTUAL MALICE.
WILLFUL, VISCOUS, MALICIOUS SLANDER - WITH ACTUAL MALICE - SLANDER WITH ACTUAL MALICE, virtually thumbing their nose at these FACTS.
Broadcasters, & all Journalists are REQUIRED to pass Libel Law.
On "Super Tuesday" Political squabbles do NOT give the Crooked Media Carte Blanche to spread FAKE NEWS & Slander their Political opponents.
Yesterday on Super Tuesday 2024, I allowed the Crooked Media to get under my skin & BULLY me into posting today's post one day early.
It is NOT "just in time for this or just in time for that or just in time for the other thing!"
That was over, finished & done.
Over finished & done.
It was over, finished & done.
It is well PAST TIME to VERIFY THAT I WILL SUE for Slander with Actual Malice if you don't STOP BLAMING THE VICTIM.
I was a 7 year old little girl when Stanley Kubrick & David-fucking-Bowie started their COMPUTER WARS & I have HAD IT with YOUR SLANDER WITH ACTUALMALICE.
Then, as if this wasn't enough already, along comes Steve Jobs, naming his first Personal Computer for his daughter Lisa Brennan Jobs - the Apple Lisa.
YOUR REVENGE that was "No Repeat Lisa" is YOUR FAILED COMEDY ROUTINE that blew-up in YOUR FACE & continues to SLANDER THE VICTIM.
On what Planet does anyone think that I would PARTICIPATE IN REVENGE AGAINST MYSELF???
Are you really THAT STUPID???
It was SCRIPTED, IT WAS BROADCAST & IT WAS CIRCULATED
And it was SLANDER.
THEY DID IT & THEY WERE FIRED FOR WHAT THEY DID.
End of Story.

UPDATE. "Ground Control to Major Tom," can we fix the "Hal 9000" any year now??? On This Day, January 9, 2020 I was about to "heave my Windows PC right out the Window" in frustration.
It's like the growing pains of changing from Fax machines to Email....it's pretty IMPOSSIBLE to send an Email WITHOUT A COMPUTER!
Anyone else have frustrations with technology?
How about you?
Do you remember when you got your 1st Computer & went online for the very first time?
NOT TO REPEAT MYSELF BUT i DIDN'T HAVE INTERNET SERVICE NOR EMAIL UNTIL MARCH OF 1997.
And YOU???
Yesterday January 8th was David Bowie's Birthday.
Are YOU DONE SLANDERING PEOPLE YET, MAJOR TOM???
******************************************
The Hal 9000, the main antagonist in Stanley Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey gave foreboding of a fictional world when computers, robots & Artificial Intelligence would replace people & takeover the world.
Most days, I wanna heave my PC right out the window.
Originally written in September of 2019, I finally gave up trying to fix my old dinosaur & bought myself an early Birthday present: a new computer with a Microsoft 10 Operating System.
OMG. I'm ready to return it to the store I bought it from.
In addition to Tech Support issues with my Web Page, I'm having issues with my entire system freezing, slow Internet access & web pages freezing. That, plus having to "teach myself" how to use these "new & improved programs" that I've been using forever that now have all the bells & whistles.
I don't vent very often, but I am so PISSED right now.
I will be offline for a while as I do Tech Support on my Operating System.
My Desktop & my Notebook computer still run on the Windows 7 Operating System. For the past couple days in a row, my Desktop almost didn't turn on, leaving me staring at the "Blue Screen of Death."
Microsoft has been sending notifications that support for Windows 7 was ending & that I should download the Windows 10 upgrade for my Operating System.
Well, that day is here.
How much fun will I be having for the next couple of days???
I can remember the exact day I went online in March of 1997.
My first computer wasn't an Apple Lisa, but it was very much an infuriating hunk of junk more like the Hal 9000.
Pretty much like a glorified typewriter with no Modem & no Internet access.
This morning I'm lucky it even turned on, so I'm gonna be kinda busy trying to breathe life back into this thing without having to invest in new equipment.
Meanwhile, please enjoy this clip from Stanley Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey, featuring the Hal 9000 while I am tearing my hair out & running screaming from the room.
Hopefully I will be back soon.
