Income Inequality
Revolving Door HR is a nod to the income inequality for women & one of the main reasons we need to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment into the Constitution.
As seen i this fact sheet from the US Department of Labor Women's Bureau, the statistics faced by women trying to make make a living in the job market are sobering to say the least & why we need passage of the ERA.
It's not just the wage gap, with women being paid less for doing the same work. It's not just the workplace hostility that many women have to endure.
It is also the incredible amount of UNPAID WORK that women do.
RDHR is still in the start-up phase, going online on Women's Equality Day of 2016 after enduring years worth of toxic, hostile work environments that were anything but female-friendly.
In 2017, thankfully Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, the Small Business Administration & S.C.O.R.E. put out the city-wide call to enter a Business Plan Competition, which I participated in.
Then Hurricane Harvey hit & everything came to a screeching halt.
When I do get back into the swing of things, I intend to get certified as a Woman-Owned Small Business, perhaps even Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business.
All of these classes & certifications take time out of my schedule that I need to spend making a living - this in addition to all of the Volunteer work I have agreed to do for the 2018 Mid-Term Elections.
