Impeached. The Ghost of Christmas Present
From the beginning of the Trump Administration, when his first official act in office was to move the American Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, to the Republican response in the Impeachment Hearings I have felt that it is time for Legislation officially creating a Separation of Church & State.
STUNNINGLY the #ApprenticePresident was compared to Christ being crucified rather than offer any defense of the indefensible.
Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol," while Secular & not Religious, is a Christmas story that takes Scrooge on a journey through his Past, Present & Future to show him the consequences of his actions & how it's never too late to change for the better.
When given the opportunity to do the right thing before the American People what did SenateTrumplicans do?
They compared the #FakePresident, also known as "the REAL Donald Trump" to a Crucified Christ.
I nearly burst a blood vessel, having watched his ENTIRE Presidency through the lens of "the Politics of Religion."
Our Nation is a country made up of Citizens of many Religious Faiths, not just Christian. It is our Diversity that makes this imperfect Union special. This is actually my entire premise in "Yes, I'd Like to Thank the Academy: How to Tame the Red Carpet in YOUR Office." Below is an excerpt from my Book:
“Yes, I’d Like to Thank the Academy,” takes a good hard look at the Broadcast Industry & the Holy War being waged by the top echelon at ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox & others at our expense.
It is as if 2000 years later, they are still arguing the question, “Is it Jesus? Is it Mohammad? Is it Buddha?” – all with the viewing public caught in the middle.
It is a multi-faceted, multi-dimensional look at the Sociological effects of Broadcast in Communications, in Politics, in Health Care & in the daily lives of all of us.
It is an honest look at what I deem to be a FAKE PRESIDENT causing problems with the REAL NEWS MEDIA and the general public as a whole. In my opinion, his "quote unquote base" of supporters are people who "really watch too much TV" & voted for a cartoon character.
The Politics of Religion - or the Religion of Politics - became front & center again this week beginning with Senate Trumplican's "defense" of the #FakePresident & culminating with the controversy over an Editorial in the Christian Magazine "Christianity Today."
I have felt for several years now that Organized Religion has too much sway over Public Opinion & have seen some very "UnChristian-like Behavior" out of "So-Called Christians," yet Churches pay ZERO Taxes.
It is a problem.
The Solution to the Problem?
Churches should pay Taxes.
That plus a Constitutional Amendment officially writing Separation of Church & State into our Constitution.
