This is What It Sounds Like When Doves Cry. Happy Birthday Prince

3:45 Central Standard Time. It's still Raining Purple as the marches for Black Lives Matter in the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor & others continue in Minneapolis, Hometown of Prince, & in Cities across the Country.

In the National Conversation on healing Race Relations, Prince led the way through his artistry: bridging both the Gender & Racial Divide.

In honor of Prince for his Birthday, I thought I would re-visit Purple Rain - which happens to be in my "Facebook Memories" for today. (I had to do a Screenshot of my Personal Memories Page so I could share across other Social Media Platforms.)

In his movie Purple Rain he addresses how hard it is to be a Bi-Racial couple & also the issue of Domestic Violence Against Women.

Early to the Conversation on Gender & Race. 1983

As a Feminist who loves everyone EQUALLY, I see no reason why PEOPLE cannot seem to walk & chew gum at the same time.

It is clear that not everyone grew up believing like I did that Prejudice of any kind is never OK.

Attending Elementary School in Allentown, Pennsylvania in the early '60s I was fully-racially integrated - as it should be - from the beginning..

I was raised on Motown that my parents listened to like so many others during the 1960s & 1970s.

Part of my 1980's Mixed Tape in College begins with Prince & includes stuff like this

The first Album I ever bought as a teenager was Everyday People by Sly & the Family Stone.

Their message is reflective of what I'm saying on the subject of PEOPLE being INDIVIDUALS.

When PEOPLE pre-judge other individual PEOPLE by their outward appearance it can be anything, not just Gender & not just Race.

And it goes both ways

It is sad, it is frustrating & it is exhausting beyond belief to the point that it has taken all day to collect my thoughts on what to even say beyond what I've already said, when I know for a fact that PEOPLE are trying to fix Racism on the backs of Women.

And now, thanks to Donald Trump, White People in general, with cries of White Supremacy.

Social Media is full of stuff that looks like this:

Can't help but wonder how a White MAN in the Texas Democratic Party would feel about seeing this from March 25th of this year.

George Floyd had not yet been murdered.

Is this screen shot saying something???

So does, "Y'all really mean ALL" when Social Media looks like this?

Race Relations GO BOTH WAYS.

PEOPLE, not just the Justice system need to think about the "Mixed Tape" they are playing as they are Beep-Bopping down the road in their cars "jamming-out to their favorite tunes."

Does anyone think that maybe, just maybe, what we're listening to may make all the difference between Peaceful Protest & Street Riots?

If your "Mixed Tape" is full of anger & bitterness & resentment, that Protest will be anything but peaceful.
