404 Page Error on iPhone and Android. Fixing the Hal 9000
ON THIS DAY. March 6, 1997 General Telephone (GTE) flipped the switch & I entered the World-Wide-Web www for the first time. I am more convinced than ever that the Internet is the "Great Waster of Time," thanks to Social Media.
It's funny, but not - funny ha-ha - that the Mainstream Media complains about Screen Time on Devices & in particular Social Media (Tic-Tok is their latest target) because there is NO GREATER WASTER OF TIME than sitting around watching TV.
And the HYPOCRISY is just BREATH-TAKING.
So here I am again this morning thinking about ending my Blog - not due to Tech Support issues, but because as you can Read Below, this Web Page has never made me a single dollar: it is an expensive HOBBY THAT COSTS ME MONEY.
While I am still pondering my options, my Book "Yes, I'd Like to Thank the Academy: How to Tame the Red Carpet in YOUR Office," will remain on Amazon.
While I will likely keep posting AT LEAST through Women's History Month, I need to put my energy & my efforts into making a living.
Please read below.

UPDATE. My Blog has a New Address this morning https://lisaannettestanley.wixsite.com/revolvingdoor/blog
The change of address happened late yesterday afternoon just before I turned my PC off for the evening.
I knew the change was coming as I just didn't have the Funds to pay for another year.
My Web Hosting Service does has Free Web Site packages but they will not connect a Domain Name to a Free Site. (Domain Names are only $25 so I am keeping that, but who knows when I will be able to get my Old Address Reconnected to the Page again.)
This Web Page has felt more like an expensive Hobby that COSTS ME MONEY rather than a Small Business that makes money for the ENTIRE THREE YEARS I've been doing this.
I think the thing that pisses me off the most is all of my Broken Links from 3 years-worth of Blog Posts. It's hit-or-miss as far as which ones still work. Despite me spending AN ENTIRE DAY of Unpaid Labor building this Blog Post along with a "404 Re-Direct Page" SPECIFICALLY for an instance like this, it goes to some random Domain Not Connected Page.
Needless to say I've got quite a bit of Tech Support ahead of me & a Phone Call to my Web Hosting Service to see what if anything can be done to Reconnect my Blog Post Links without me having to do it manually one by one by one for THREE YEARS WORTH OF POSTS.
It would take me from now until Christmas to fix everything manually.
My E-Book, "Yes I'd Like To Thank The Academy: How to Tame the Red Carpet in YOUR Office" is still available on Amazon HERE
If you believe that Bullying is a problem in this Country, if you believe that Hate Speech is a Problem, if you believe that Women are Equal to Men & if you'd like to be Part of the SOLUTION & are able, you might consider Investing in this Small Business to help KEEP IT IN Business Here:
Thanks for Reading & see ya Online.
Stay Tuned

Technology is a Tool to improve our lives, to make life better Just like the mandatory Upgrade from Window 7 to Windows 10, I've had a notification for about a year now that my Blog needed a Software Update that I've resisted until now.
Monday I made the necessary Upgrade which had some Pluses & some Minuses.
The Desktop Version of the Blog Post Share Button now works as it should - something that hasn't been possible for a while now.
I've been Manually building each post first on my Blog then Building the same Post again for Facebook, for Twitter, for any Social Media I'm posting on.
It has come to my attention that the Mobile App Version has a Broken Link that goes to a "404 Page Not Found Error Message."
Sooooooooooooooooooooo.
I now need to spend time offline doing Tech Support.
I will also need to build a "404 Page Not Found" Re-Direct Page for when Mobile Phone Users Click my Link.
Until I can figure out a Solution, the Desktop Version DOES work as it should. Initially I thought about Deleting Monday's Post & Re-Posting - but it does only appear to affect Mobile.
Owning a Small Business with a Staff of One is fun.

The Hal 9000, the main antagonist in Stanley Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey gave foreboding of a fictional world when computers, robots & Artificial Intelligence would replace man & takeover the world. Most days, I wanna heave my PC right out the window.
Originally written in September of 2019, I finally gave up trying to fix my old dinosaur & bought myself an early Birthday present: a new computer with a Microsoft 10 Operating System.
OMG. I'm ready to return it to the store I bought it from.
In addition to Tech Support issues with my Web Page, I'm having issues with my entire system freezing, slow Internet access & web pages freezing. That, plus having to "teach myself" how to use these "new & improved programs" that I've been using forever that now have all the bells & whistles.
I don't vent very often, but I am so PISSED right now.
I will be offline for a while as I do Tech Support on my Operating System.
My Desktop & my Notebook computer still run on the Windows 7 Operating System. For the past couple days in a row, my Desktop almost didn't turn on, leaving me staring at the "Blue Screen of Death."
Microsoft has been sending notifications that support for Windows 7 was ending & that I should download the Windows 10 upgrade for my Operating System.
Well, that day is here.
How much fun will I be having for the next couple of days???
I can remember the exact day I went online in March of 1997.
My first computer wasn't an Apple Lisa, but it was very much an infuriating hunk of junk more like the Hal 9000.
Pretty much like a glorified typewriter with no Modem & no Internet access.
This morning I'm lucky it even turned on, so I'm gonna be kinda busy trying to breathe life back into this thing without having to invest in new equipment.
Meanwhile, please enjoy this clip from Stanley Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey, featuring the Hal 9000 while I am tearing my hair out & running screaming from the room.
Hopefully I will be back soon.
