Good Evening Friends. Rest in Peace Dave Ward. May 6, 1939 – December 13, 2025

Houston woke up this morning to the News that long-time ABC13 News Anchor Dave Ward has died of natural causes after being in declining health for a number of years.

His many accomplishments include being named to the Guinness Book of World Records as the Longest Continuous News Anchor on the Air, having the Crime Stoppers Houston building built for and named for him in downtown Houston, & publishing his Memoir, "Good Evening Friends."

I did get Marvin Zindler's Book, but not sure why I didn't go meet Dave at one of his Book Signings at Bering's Hardware - there's really no excuse particularly when I could have met him person like I did Marvin at Harold in the Heights.

I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas this year.
