Protection From H8te Speech. Ratify the ERA Now. Women's History Month Day 18

Equal Rights Amendment

ENCORE PRESENTATION. Emotional Intelligence teaches us Caring, Empathy, the ability to put ourselves in someone else's shoes & treat them like we would like to be treated: like an Individual.

Yesterday's Mass Murder in Georgia of 8 people - mostly Asian Women, while disturbing, does not appear to be motivated by Racist Hate.

What we do know is the perpetrator is a White Man. What we do know is that he is probably Mentally Ill to have done this. What we DO NOT KNOW is whether he had any White Supremist or Neo-Nazi beliefs.

Yet the presumption on Social Media was that it was Racially Motivated. In fact yesterday, I received an Email from the Women's March with this Headline:

"Fox News and White Supremacy"

As a White Woman, you have no idea how this made ME FEEL to receive this from the Women's March of all people.

The widespread assumption was made was that this was a racially-motivated Hate Crime, yet nobody seems to have any problem with Hate Speech at the Grammy Awards.

The word is PREJUDICE.

ANYONE can be Prejudice.

While I am not a Historian, I do have a Degree in Sociology. My emphasis on the 100th Anniversary of Women gaining the Right to Vote under the 19th Amendment must be with respect to the Present & Future.

That having been said, my knowledge on the subject of the American Civil War, the Reconstruction Period & the early Amendments to our Constitution has grown by leaps & bounds in the four years I've been doing this.

One thing I was shocked to learn is that during the Civil War Period as compared to the Present day, the Southern DEMOCRATS & the Northern REPUBLICANS have flip-flopped their Parties' Platforms 180 Degrees.

What???

So it is with this mindset of living in the Present & feeling the effects of what some have called "Toxic Masculinity" or SEXISM or MISOGYNY, perhaps even plain old Discriminatory PREJUDICE - dare I say REVERSE RACIST, that I study the past.

When I say that SEXISM COST HILLARY CLINTON THE ELECTION, it is not an Opinion, it is a FACT.

H8te Speech in Rap Music is a big part of the Reason Why.

Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment would PROTECT WOMEN from H8te Speech.

UPDATE. A record number of WOMEN vying for the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary have just dropped out of the running. We are down to two choices for the Presidential nominee, once again both Men.

With the Media's openly MISOGYNISTIC attacks on WOMEN that have colored the Opinion of the TV-Watching Public, is it any wonder that we cannot Elect a QUALIFIED Female Candidate to the Highest Office in our land?

Is there some reason these women couldn't win enough votes from the public to remain viable?

The 1st Amendment that gives Americans Free Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom of the Press & the right for Peaceful Assembly has it's limitations, including limitations on speech that is considered Slanderous.

Journalism Majors are required to study Libel Law, which is why I keep harping on Misogynist Attack Ads on TV towards women.

Remedies for Slander, defined as harm to one's reputation, include suing for monetary damages.

These attack ads, generally focusing on MILK are holding an entire class of people up to public scorn, implying that drinking MILK is responsible for giving people GAS.

Gas makes people happy, doesn't it?

THIS IS HATE SPEECH.

This is WHY we need Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment.
