LIS. Special Election Periods for Medicare
The fun & games with peoples lives & their paychecks are one of the reasons why I wanted to get out of Insurance & get back into Advertising.
My entry into the world of Health Insurance started with Medicare & OMG what a nightmare that is for Agents like me.
The MMA, Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 implemented in the George W. Bush Administration created Low Income Subsidies for senior citizens needing extra help paying for the Medicare Part D Premiums & Out of Pocket Expenses in paying for their medications.
This is the biggest part of the problem with all of the Republican attempts to "Repeal & Replace Obamacare:" stunning HYPOCRISY. The Republicans created Low Income SUBSIDIES in the first place & deemed it to be a good idea. This is EXACTLY THE SAME as what President Obama did for the rest of us who are too young for Medicare.
From the beginning of my Insurance career, I have had managers playing the Name Game & jerking me around in terms of LIS "Loss of Coverage" as seen in the Special Election Period Chart below:
So the office politics with the fun & games sounded a bit like this:
"What??? Your NAME is Lisa? We're sorry, but you just lost your LIS Extra Help. No Paycheck for you."
Sound ridiculous? It is - and INFURIATING.
When will they stop playing games with Agents' paychecks???
